Dear Community Supporters,
In August 2019, Bruce Evans Jr., a lifetime member and volunteer with the Greenfield Township Volunteer Fire Department, was seriously injured in a racing accident at Penn Can Speedway, which has left him currently unable to work. Bruce sustained a severe concussion, along with a number of complications arising from his head injury, including almost complete vision loss in his right eye. Bruce has been traveling back and forth to the Wills Eye Institute and Jefferson Hospital Neurology in Philadelphia for treatment, but his recovery has been difficult and is far from over. The financial burden has begun to take a toll on his family, which includes his wife Marisa and two children, Delana and Blair.
On December 8, 2019, Penn Can Speedway and Greenfield Township Volunteer Fire Company, along with friends and family, will be hosting a pasta dinner and raffle basket fundraiser in Bruce’s honor at the Greenfield Township Municipal Building. All proceeds from the event will go directly to the Evans family to help alleviate some of the overwhelming financial burden resulting from the accident.
The success of any fundraiser depends on the support and generous contributions of the community. To that end, we are asking for donations in any one or more of the following categories:
• Prepared raffle baskets or merchandise that can be combined to create themed baskets;
• Gift certificates for products and/or services;
• Monetary donations;
• Food items: penne pasta, pasta sauce, grated parmesan cheese, dinner rolls, butter packets, salad dressing, lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, beverages, desserts;
• Paper products: dinner plates, dessert plates, napkins, bowls, utensils, cups, straws, take out containers, plastic bags.
All donations are greatly appreciated and will be acknowledged by displaying your business name on your donation at the event.
