DEVON ZONA EARNS FIRST CAREER WIN ON CRSA NIGHT AT PENN CAN SPEEDWAY

The excitement of the CRSA appearance at Penn Can Speedway on July 24th could be felt as soon as the gates opened. You get a feeling something special is going to happen and it did for 602 crate sportsman driver Devon Zona. He took the checkered flag for his first career win, in the division, at Penn Can. Also, on the card was the ever popular CRSA Sprint tour. Darryl Ruggles of Hopewell NY held off Thomas Radivoy for the win. A stout 20 car field made the 25 lap feature look easy. Kunkletown native, Butch Getz, reached a milestone July 17th at Penn Can Speedway. The Big Creek Concrete sponsored #15, piloted by Getz, took the checkered flag. A driver remembers their every win but the one that always tops is the first win. Getz did just that on Fan Appreciation Night taking his first modified win of his career. So many times, he has come close only to fall just short. He would not be denied nor would give up with out a fight. He comes from the Moc-a-Teck days and got his first sportsman win there. PENN CAN SPEEDWAY DONATES TO OAKLAND FOOD BANK

While most fourth of July celebrations were cancelled, Penn Can Speedway promoters, Folk Family Racing LLC which is run by Gary Folk SR. and Eileen Folk, hosted its fireworks extravaganza, sponsored by Monteforte Fireworks. As people came to view the spectacular and patriotic fireworks show from their vehicles or in the stands, a dollar from each payment went towards the Oakland Food Bank. Additionally, Penn Can Speedway matched that amount dollar for dollar. The total amount came to a generous $1600.00. ALECIA TOWNER FIRST FEMALE FEATURE WINNER ON MONTEFORTE FIREWORKS NIGHT AT PENN CAN SPEEDWAY History was made on Monteforte Fireworks night. Penn Can Speedway hosted the biggest fireworks display July 3rd. Alecia Towner edged out Kevin McDonald by inches to take the factory stock divisional win. She is the first female winner in a weekly division at the 3/8 mile dirt oval. Brandon Oleski made his first trip to victory lane in the 602 crate sportsman division. A distance of a foot over Tom Rudalavage had the spectators on their feet.
